Hi All,  Having recently painted my first ever model figures, I have been looking for instructions on how to paint miniatures, as there will be several in the Sots build. I have looked at the books available for painting "Citadel miniatures" but these don`t come cheap even second hand so I set myself a web browsing task. This result looks like the thing I`m after and hope others of you find it useful.  Miniature paintingWould be interested in other people`s ideas on this site, as it`s a new venture for me and would appreciate the thought`s of some of the more experienced builders on this forum. Hi Derek Figure painting can be one of the most relaxing of the modelling tasks (it can also be one of the most frustrating too!! ). I shall be making casting moulds for some of the figures in my Messines diorama to increase the variety of figure positions etc and as a practise (I haven't done any for over 18 months or so) I'll be doing a mould for my scratch built crew figures for the Victory. Probably won't be for a few weeks yet but when I do I'll try and put a 'how I painted them' piece in the diary. I'm not an expert by any means but I do quite enjoy turning little lumps of white metal into little people-looking things! I'll see you in a few weeks! (figuratively speaking!) Painting figurens is a model discipline in is own right, The experts can do some breathtaking things with paint. Developing the skill takes time but using good quality paints will help.
I don't know what Paints you were thinking of using, But I find Vallejo excellent for figures. Hadn`t made up my mind as to which paints, or anything else come to that. Was just testing the waters, so to speak and gen up on the skills needed. Only ever painted the figures for my San felipe cannon dio so far, but that link you posted looks very interesting. Hi Steve Now that's an interesting link but you failed to mention that extra small brushes are needed and the enevitable mignifiying headset  regards Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

True Steve but I was joking about the brushes ect but figures at the best of times are an art in its self to master and all hail those that can regards Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .
